3rd Annual Prayer Chain for the Earth

“Read the Signs, Be the Change”
Triangle creation caretakers forged the Third Annual Prayer Chain for the Earth on Monday, October 23, during the evening rush hour. People of many faiths from around the Triangle joined to form a human prayer chain 125 “links” long on the sidewalks between the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh and the Community United Church of Christ.
Signs shared messages on the theme, “Read the Signs, Be the Change.” These messages were well-received by many in passing traffic, with many honks, waves, thumbs-up and shouts of encouragement.
A prayer circle immediately followed and featured a new song written and performed by Rev. Christian McIvor (shown on left in photo above). See the entire chain, the signs, the enthusiastic response of passing drivers, and watch the service in this video. (29 minutes).
