In Field of Compassion, Judy Canuto tells the beautiful story of how Nate Sears, a landscaper working on a house, saved three stranded 10-foot pilot whales on the shores of Cape Cod. His human touch calmed the frantic whales, and he was able to turn the first two and send them back out to sea. Then do the same for the third with the help of the National Sea Shore Service. ICCT has held the firm belief that together, faith communities will make a powerful impact on the growing climate crisis. To learn from and inspire each other, ICCT’s Earth Friendly Practices Action Team has created a survey for Triangle congregations.  First, you’re invited to review the survey results and the survey questions.

Our Next Steps in Nature

ICCT will soon announce an autumn outdoor adventure. Let us know your preferences–forest bathing, native seed collection, etc. See details and sign up for notifications here. Thirty walkers, young and old and of all ability levels, showed up for our May event in Umstead Park. Some hiked long or short trails and some simply relaxed in the shade connecting with others who love the Earth! We hope to see YOU for our next loving steps in nature!
