Interfaith Climate Advocates Network (ICAN) and the Advocating with Compassion Campaign
In January, 2026, ICCT’s Advocacy Team launched the Interfaith Climate Advocates Network (ICAN), which creates small groups organized by voting districts. We introduce participants to 2-5 other people in their voting districts, with the goal of meeting with their shared elected officials as a group. Join an ICAN group here.
Learn more by watching the recording of our first webinar. You may also download the slides if you wish. Held on January 13, 2026, the webinar features Susannah Tuttle from the NC Council of Churches’ Eco-Justice Connection and provides training for those who are brand new or have been engaged with advocacy work for years. She covers how the NC General Assembly operates as well as how to start building relationships with our representatives.

To support our ICAN advocates, we offer training designed to equip people of diverse faith traditions and spiritual backgrounds with the tools, confidence, and spiritual grounding needed to engage thoughtfully and effectively with elected officials. Watch the recording of our second webinar in the series offered in March, 2026, and once again featuring Susannah Tuttle. Ms. Tuttle reviews step-by-step guidance for scheduling an introductory meeting with your representatives in the NC General Assembly and the US House of Representatives.

Together we advocate with compassion and respect from a perspective of faith and for the care of creation. We focus on issues around a fair, affordable energy system that serves all communities, clean air and water, and protections to ecosystems. New participants are invited to join anytime.
