What is a liaison?
An ICCT liaison is a member of a faith community in the Triangle or surrounding area who helps connect their congregation with Interfaith Creation Care of the Triangle (ICCT).
Liaisons:
• Share ICCT events and creation care resources with their faith community
• Let ICCT know about their community’s creation care efforts, priorities, and events especially those you’d like to promote in the ICCT newsletter
• Exchange ideas and build relationships with other liaisons
What are the requirements?
You do not need special qualifications to serve as a liaison. There is no cost to participate, and no recommendations are required. What matters most is:
• Love for our shared sacred home and a desire to help protect it
• Respect for both human and non-human life
• Openness to learning from people in different faith traditions
• Interest in being part of a values-driven community
What type of commitment is required?
The level of involvement is flexible.
• Liaison gatherings are optional
• They take place about once each quarter
• Gatherings may include Zoom meetings and in-person social events
• From time to time, liaisons may be asked to share an event or action opportunity with their faith community
How can I learn more or sign up?
Share your contact information through this link, and someone will follow up with you. In the meantime, you can learn more by exploring the website and subscribing to the newsletter.
Does my faith community already have a liaison?
You can view the current list of liaisons and their faith communities here.
If your faith community is already represented, we’d be happy to connect you with that liaison. You might also consider joining an Action Team or Support Team.
