Connect to ICCT’s next adventure
The ICCT Earth Friendly Practices Team hosted its first walk in nature at Umstead Park, Sunday May 17th and we’re excited about our next steps in nature.
Even though nature surprised us on the Umstead walk with 90 degree temperatures, we had low humidity, a lovely breeze, and plenty of shade making the day inviting. Turnout was amazing with over 30 walkers, some choosing the Inspiration easy walk, others taking the longer Loblolly Trail, while some decided to sit in the shade.
The day was a mystical experience, as hikers experienced the joy of connecting with a wide age range of people who love the Earth. One young enthusiast used an app to message ~90 people and drove additional attendance among young people.
You’re invited to our next adventure. Here’s how to make it happen:
- Check out our ideas for future walks and outdoor experiences like forest bathing (air not water), identifying and collecting native plant seeds, a guided meditative walk inspired by many faith traditions, nature journaling, music in nature celebrating nature, and more.
- Share your favorite spot in the Triangle to experience nature.
- Stay in the loop to get information when walks are scheduled.
- Connect with the Earth Friendly Practices Team to help design our next experience in nature.
