Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali gave this inspiring presentation on Environmental Justice on October 12, 2020, co-sponsored by NC Wildlife Federation, Interfaith Creation Care of the Triangle, and Orange Chatham Interfaith Care for Creation.
Dr. Ali is a renowned thought leader, international speaker, community liaison, trainer and facilitator. He currently works for the National Wildlife Federation, where he serves as the Vice President of Environmental Justice, Climate, and Community Revitalization. He is also the founder of Revitalization Strategies, a business focused on moving our most vulnerable communities from “surviving to thriving.”
Before joining the National Wildlife Federation, Mustafa was the senior vice president for the Hip Hop Caucus, a national non-profit and non-partisan organization that connects the hip-hop community to the civic process to build power and create positive change. In his role, he led the strategic direction, expansion, and operation of the Hip Hop Caucus’ portfolio on climate, environmental justice, and community revitalization.
Dr. Ali also spent 24 years working at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). He led the Interagency Working Group on Environmental Justice (EJIWG), and worked across federal agencies to strengthen environmental justice policies, programs and initiatives.
