John is a documentary filmmaker and conservationist from Chapel Hill. He’s a member of University Presbyterian Church’s Earth Care Team where he and his wife share the importance of recycling. He is chairman of the North Carolina Land and Water Fund board of trustees and a former board member of the Conservation Trust for North Carolina, Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation and N.C. Botanical Garden Foundation. He has produced several documentaries for PBS North Carolina and edited the video series, Climate Stories NC. Wilson has taught at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, the UNC Department of Communication, and the Curriculum in Environment & Ecology.
